No-Frills

Lindsey was in town for a wedding and Jessica was back from Europe which meant it was time to CELEBRATE! After a weekend full of shopping, I found the perfect dress to see Better Than Ezra in. When paired with chunky accessories and hot pumps, you're ready to hang in the trendiest hot spots in Houston. Now, although my dress was covered in chiffon frills the night definitely was not. Well, it was some of the time.

Downer # 1: Better Than Ezra. The front man is a Kappa Sigma so Jesse and his fraternity brothers were dying to see them. And so was the rest of Houston apparently. Tickets for the show at the House of Blues sold out and I was left in the cold in a hot hot dress. What's a girl and her gal pals (plus a few guys) left to do? Go out on the town of course!

Coordinating everyone to the "Village" (Rice Village) was such a pain! We went to The Bronx Bar and Little Woodrow's.Downer #2: The Bronx Bar was rather small and the music was WAY too loud. For such a quaint gathering place, the music and staff were very intrusive to the chill vibe the bar was supposed to offer. While sitting at a table, a waiter reached in front of me (without asking) several times, lifted my glass up to see if there was still something in it, and then put it down. He did that to everyone's drinks at the table, including long necks. It was so annoying. Watching the entire bar participate in "The Cupid Shuffle" was a flash back to 2007, so we just had to leave.

Little Woodrow's was less Affliction, more Southern Proper and exceeded my expectations. People sat around in bearable music, enjoying eachother's company while making new friends.

Our last stop was Pub Fiction in the Midtown area where I saw a high school frenemy but still had a fabulous time with my friends. The drinks were cheap and the energy was high. Frat stars and hipsters united on the dance floor...along with the intermingling of Houston hotties and my friends! Here are pics of the bar and EVIDENCE of the fun that went down:

Pub Fiction, daytime.

My SQUIRREL!

Britney was in town for the wedding and Kristen for the concert!

I won't mention the sketchy behavior that went on after. Ask if you want to know! Haha! I am still trying to make it to the Terra Cotta Warrior's exhibit, so stay tuned for an update about my natural science explorations!

LAW SCHOOL UPDATE: I just paid my semester's tuition. I'm officially a student at South Texas College of Law!
