B is for BOWLING

Yesterday, Jesse and I went to the oh so dangerously ghetto FunPlex to bowl. It was his turn to pick and he narrowed it down to two excellent choices - bowling or the Butterfly Museum. Being the incredible athlete that he is - he chose bowling. I remember going there when I was younger and thinking it was the coolest place on the planet. It was the closest thing to a Celebration Station or Dave & Busters in our area and was the local hangout throughout my childhood. My parents always thought it was sketch, so I didn't go as often as my friends did. Fifteen years later, it ONLY serves as a cheap place to bowl during the day...we wouldn't dare go there past sunset. We tried to play the arcade games but a lot of the machines stole our tokens! Afterwards, we went to church and hung out with my cousins. An amazing day with an amazing boyfriend...I am so blessed!

I also spent this weekend exploring the city and boy was it eventful. We went to Midtown one night and I joined the UFO Club at the Flying Saucer. It was on the top of my to-do list before I even moved back to Houston and am so glad I'm finally doing it. The Flying Saucer has 200 beers and as a club member, a record is kept of each beer you have tried. When you reach the 200th beer, you get a golden plate with your name/whatever on it and it is hung in the "Ring of Honor". You are then given $100 for a private party at the bar for the unveiling of your plate. I'm not much for beer but I wouldn't mind trying each beer once within the next year or two. We ventured into Katy one night and went to Baker Street and Wild Wings (not to be mistaken for the popular Buffalo Wild Wings). Wild Wings was a lot of fun and and inexpensive. I recommend their chili queso.


It's my turn to pick the next alphabet date which probably won't happen until July because Jesse has a big test coming up. Any suggestions?
