Julio Happenings

Not a lot has happened since my last post. I got a MacBook Pro, and as I was setting it up I remember being really excited about blogging on it. I've had it for a few weeks now and haven't even thought about blogging until today. I have been tweeting more than usual, though. Aside from finding out that I have a number of holes in each retina and may have to get lasers shot in my eye to prevent me from going blind, the most eventful day so far has been July 3rd. I'm lame and didn't do anything extraordinary on the 4th...my bad. Last Friday I kept busy with two things: Warped Tour and cheering DaNae to victory in the Miss Texas pageant.

Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of most of the bands at Warped...I only went to see Innerpartysystem. There were a few other bands that I wanted to check out but they weren't good live at all. Anti-Flag and Thrice were alright. As for the oh-so-popular 3Oh!3, I suggest you put your "303's" down and just listen to them on the radio. Def not worth seeing live. This was my second time to see IPS and they did not disappoint. They're so freakin' good. If you haven't heard their music, go to their Myspace page. I got to talk to the guys and really wanted to go see them again at Warped in Dallas but I ended up not making it out there.

Speaking of Dallas (Arlington to be exact)...my good friend DaNae Couch recently competed in the Miss Texas Pageant and was 1st runner-up. I'm so proud of her and wish I could have been there to cheer her on in person. Jesse and I watched the competition via webcast instead of going on our D date; which was supposed to be dancing lessons but I guess I can be lazy and bend the rules a bit and make D stand for DaNae. Ha! I bet she'd love that. Like Luis said in his saweeet blog Saturdays, I usually think pageants are really boring. It would have been if it wasn't for DaNae's stunning gown and amazing twirling act! Or maybe it just flat out would have been boring if I had no one to cheer for on there. So maybe she wasn't exactly victorious because she didn't win the whole thing, but she went the farthest than any other newbie has in a very long time. "If you're not first, you're last" - she was FIRST runner-up...so there. DaNae wins in my book!

I want to do something. Like actually DO something not just go to shows and go to work with my dad. I feel like I've just been killing time instead of valuing the time off I have before law school starts. Here's a mini list I have compiled of things I am interested in doing (keyword interested because I am lazy and probably won't get around to doing them):

• Visit Audrey and Steven in Thailand. Now, I'm not too lazy to do this..the flights are just so expensive!
• Visit Mary in St.Louis. Flights are cheap, I have no excuse not to go!
• Go to Rockport with Lindsey and Kristen.
• Do something to my hair....

So this list is more like places I want to go to rather than things I want to do. Oh well. **I'll edit this post later this afternoon and ad pics from Warped and Miss Texas.
